7 MOUNT KILIMANJARO CLIMBING TANZANIA

MOUNTAIN  KILIMANJARO

- It is the highest point of Africa standing  at 3 peaks namely: KIBO- 5,895 metres, MAWENZI- 5,749 metres, SHIRA- 4,160 metres.
-The mountain is an awesome spectacle, but climbing it is achievable by anyone who is determined and reasonably fit.

7 DAYS MARANGU ROUTE

DAY 1: ARRIVAL
Begins and Ends in Moshi town.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), pick up and transfer to Moshi for Dinner and Overnight. Later gather for pre-climb briefing and an equipment check, mandatory medical coverage and Travel Insurance.

DAY 2: MANDARA
After breakfast depart your hotel to MARANGU gate for necessary formalities. We start climbing through fascinating tropical rain forest. Dinner and Overnight at MANDARA Hut. 2,700 metres (5-6 hours).

DAY 3: HOROMBO HUT
Today the first part of the walk is a steep ascent through the forest but the path soon opens out into moorland and in clear weather there are great views of KIBO- and MAWENZI- peaks. You arrive at HOROMBO Hut mid afternoon, where you can relax and enjoy the stunning scenery around the camp. Dinner and Overnight. 3,720 metres(4-6hours).

DAY 4: KIBO HUT
Today you climb very gradually towards the lunar desert of the saddle between MAWENZI- and Kibo. These walking hours will be taken at a slow pace untill we reach Kibo Hut (4,700m). There is no running water here. Dinner and Overnight. 4, 700metres(4-6hours)

DAY 5: SUMMIT
Wake up before midnight in the cover of darkness and begin the steep climb over loose volcanic rocks and the path has some graded zig zags and a slow but steady pace that will take you to the rim of the main Crater, Gillmans 5, 685metres. Rest there for a few minutes to enjoy sunrise over Mawenzi. Continue slowly to make the 3 hours round the tip along the Crater rim to Uhuru peak at 5, 895metres, the highest point in Africa. After a few minutes to appreciate your accomplishments you descend to Kibo Hut for refreshments, continue descending to reach HOROMBO Hut. Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 6: MARANGU GATE
Today you will descend past MANDARA Hut to MARANGU national gate. Successful climbers will receive their Summit certificate. From here you will be transferred to Moshi for Dinner and Overnight stay. (6-7 hours walking).

DAY 7: DEPARTURE DAY
After saying bye to our team in operation then you need a private departure transfer to which is included from Moshi to Kilimanjaro International Airport JRO or to your next destination.
